Achim Nowak is an author, TEDx speaker, executive coach, and international authority on personal presence. His books Infectious: How to Connect Deeply and Unleash the Energetic Leader Within (Skyhorse Publishing/2013) and Power Speaking (Allworth Press/2004/also in German and Chinese) have become prized resources for entrepreneurs and Fortune 500 executives around the world. Influens, the international training and coaching firm Achim founded in 2004, helps leaders at every organizational level to show up more boldly and be more influential.
Achim has a checkered past. That is one of his finer assets.
It includes training performers at The Actors Institute in Manhattan, spending a decade on the faculty of New York University, leading transformational AIDS Mastery week-ends in church basements and community centers throughout North America, and disappearing to the island of Tobago for a year. In Tobago Achim windsurfed, read every Graham Greene novel he could get his hands on, and mastered the art of doing nothing.
This book draws on all of these experiences, as well as a 20-year journey of exploring Hindu practices, Native American mythology, and the rewards of silence. Achim holds an M.A. in Organizational Psychology and International Relations from New York University. He and his work have been featured on 60 Minutes, Fox News, and NPR, in The New York Times and The Miami Herald. Achim’s writing has been recognized with a PEN Syndicated Fiction Award, and his work for the Shimon Peres Centre for Peace, where he helmed a collaboration between Palestinian, Israeli and Jordanian theatre artists, was captured in the award-winning documentary “The Last Enemy.”
Achim’s popular weekly Energy Boost message is received by a wide circle of influencers around the globe.
